Getting Started

How do I get started with Clipsy?

Download Clipsy from the App Store, sign in with Apple, and tap the record button. Speak naturally about any idea, then pick the platforms you want posts for. Clipsy generates platform-specific content in 10–25 seconds on average — no editing required.

What iOS version do I need?

Clipsy requires iOS 17 or later. If your device supports iOS 17, you can install Clipsy from the App Store without any additional setup.

Can I use Clipsy on iPad or Mac?

Clipsy is currently iPhone-only. We've focused the experience on iPhone to deliver the best recording quality and performance. iPad and Mac support is on our roadmap.

What languages does Clipsy support?

Clipsy works with any language you speak. It's optimized for English and Spanish, with automatic language detection — it generates posts in the same language you recorded in.

Using Clipsy

How do I choose a writing style?

After recording, pick a platform first — Clipsy then shows you the styles available for that platform. There are 21 styles total across 7 platforms, each based on real viral post patterns for that specific network.

Can I edit posts after Clipsy generates them?

Yes. Every post is fully editable before you copy it. Tap any word to rewrite it, adjust the tone, or change the length. Most users don't need to edit anything, but you always have full control.

How do I regenerate a post I don't like?

Tap the regenerate button at the bottom of any post. Clipsy will create a new version using the same voice memo but a different angle. On Pro, you can regenerate unlimited times; on Free, regenerations count against your lifetime post-generation limit.

Subscriptions & Billing

How do I cancel my Clipsy subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Open iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID at the top, select Subscriptions, find Clipsy, and tap Cancel Subscription. Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com within 14 days of your purchase and request a refund. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.

How do I upgrade from Free to Pro?

Open Clipsy, go to Settings, and tap Upgrade to Pro. You'll see the subscription options and a 3-day free trial. You can cancel before the trial ends and won't be charged.

My trial ended — what happens to my posts?

All your previously generated posts and recordings stay accessible on the Free plan. You just can't generate new content beyond the Free plan limits until the next month or until you upgrade.

Troubleshooting

Clipsy isn't transcribing my voice correctly — what should I do?

Make sure you're recording in a quiet environment and speaking clearly. If the issue persists, check that the microphone permission is enabled in iPhone Settings → Privacy → Microphone → Clipsy. Background noise and interruptions are the most common causes of transcription errors.

The app isn't generating posts — how do I fix it?

First check your internet connection — Clipsy needs to be online to generate posts. If you're connected and still stuck, force-close the app and reopen it. If the problem continues, email our team and include the approximate time the issue started.

My recording won't upload — what's happening?

This usually means an unstable internet connection. Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data. Very long recordings can occasionally time out on slower networks — if that happens, try splitting your idea into shorter clips.

Account & Privacy

Is my voice data stored?

No. Voice recordings are transcribed on our servers and then immediately deleted. We never store raw audio files. The transcribed text is saved with your account so you can review past posts.

How do I delete my Clipsy account?

Open Clipsy → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all generated posts, and any stored data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

What data does Clipsy collect?

Clipsy collects your voice recordings (deleted after transcription), generated text content, and basic usage data to improve the service. We don't sell your data or use it to train AI models. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
